Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved at Stella, especially for sex workers. You can support the staff at the drop-in centre, run workshops, lend a hand during one of our events, or help with the production of the Bad Tricks and Assaulters List, included into Stella's Bulletin, and ConStellation magazine. There are also many committees to join. Stella has a range of committees, from organizing events and parties, to developing our position in favour of decriminalisation, open to sex workers, our members, and our partner organisations. Some of these committees meet regularly, and others according to the need or circumstances. If you wish to get involved at Stella, contact stellappp@videotron.ca
If you want to encourage solidarity and discussion amongst the women you know or who work in your area, Stella’s team can offer you advice and support. At Stella, we believe that the more we sex-workers speak up about our work, and the more we share and debate ideas which are important to us, the more things will move in our favour. We know that it’s not always easy or even possible to express ourselves and share our realities; this is mostly because of widespread prejudice as well as today's repressive Canadian laws. At Stella, we’ve developed different ways to make discussion possible despite these difficulties.
